Coastal Heritage Society

Savannah has a long, layered history, and Coastal Heritage Society helps preserve it across six remarkable museums.

Begin at Savannah History Museum for a look at the city’s timeline, then head to the Georgia State Railroad Museum to see impressive locomotives and former repair shops. Families will love Savannah Children’s Museum and its new indoor STEAM Center, featuring hands-on exhibits and a Mirror Maze (pictured left).

CHS also operates Pin Point Heritage Museum, preserving Gullah/Geechee culture, along with historic Old Fort Jackson and Harper Fowlkes House.

Collectively, these six museums highlight the history that shapes Savannah today, a meaningful stop for anyone exploring the city
